Breaks up shale, increasing oil flow
PetroX EOR is an advanced permeability enhancer for tight formations. It works by breaking down illite, smectite, and other silicate clays responsible for swelling and flow restriction in shale reservoirs. The proprietary industrial chemistry disrupts the crystal lattice of clays, reducing gel formation and increasing pore space connectivity. This enables higher hydrocarbon liberation during hydraulic fracturing and post-acidizing operations.
Applications include hydraulic fracturing, production stimulation, and acidizing. PetroX EOR is particularly valuable in unconventional plays, where maximizing every barrel is key to economics.
Compared to conventional clay stabilizers and acids, PetroX EOR is non-corrosive, operates at neutral pH, and outperforms bio-based and solvent-based alternatives under real-world Eagle Ford and Permian conditions—liberating up to 4x more hydrocarbons from cuttings. It enhances flowback, improves phase separation, and unlocks marginal wells with minimal environmental risk.
